This session focuses on personal memories and historical research, they will discuss Nubia’s past and highlight the transformation of Faras and Nubia from a site of everyday life into a museum.
Abdulla Sabbar, an AA alumnus from Nubia, Sudan, on the documentation, through photographs, sites in Nubia in the 1960s that contained paintings in private spaces, which never made it to the museum and are now submerged by Lake Nasser.
Adrian Chlebowski will discuss the use of new technologies, such as space syntax, to analyze the spatial distribution within the Nubian Cathedrals. Adrian is part of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of Warsaw.
